Further to our recent articles on what employers should expect from the Government’s Employment Bill (the Bill”), we can confirm that the Bill completed its third reading in the House of Commons this week.

This means the bill will now progress to the House of Lords for debate.

Should the Bill continue to progress through Parliament at the current rate, we would expect it to be passed by the summer which will mean some parts of it could come into force as soon as October 2025.

Given the wide ranging changes to UK employment law the Bill is expected to introduce, any employers who are looking to prepare their businesses for those changes are invited to get in touch with our employment team at FMGS Law Limited who will be happy to provide support.
